Welcome to Porto Heli and THE Porto Heli website.

Another long wait but some new pages have eventually been updated and uploaded. I've more to come, please be patient. As I mentioned before, I'm now using CSS, learning by experience, so if you come across any part of the site that doesn't act or look like it should, please let me know. To those of you who have already, thank you and I hope that www.portoheli.net becomes as functional and informational as it should be.

I've been in Porto Heli for over 16 years now and this website is my personal attempt to tell you all what a great place it is and give you all the relevant info for a really good stay here. Please keep your e-mails coming because then I know what to add / update / link to.

NEW AND IMPROVED ...

Recently updated pages include: a page about Ioannis Taxi Service if you're needing transport either to get here or get around here, my Webdesign page where you can take a look at some of my work, Tour Epidavros by KTEL,which is also linked to on my Excursions page. An entirely new page is my Property page with links to some of the numerous real estate agencies in Porto Heli plus a page with details of family homes for sale and rent in Koilada. My Rooms page has a new link to Papayioannou Rooms and I've updated: my Food and Drink page, my Shopping page and my Water Sports page.

Old New Stuff ...

The Athens International Airport website is the place to go to see what's what at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (a.k.a. Athens International Airport) and a few new links to rail services in Greece. ISAP Metro is the site for the old metro line and here is a link to the newer Attiki Metro line. I came across the Hellenic Railway Organisation website for train timetables and prices across Greece and also the website for the Proastiakos Railway Line which has information on the train service between Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens and Corinth. Both sites are in Greek only at the moment but have all the contact details you'll need. The website for the Greek Bus Services or KTEL is up and (mostly) running again. All these links and some of the relevant timetables / contact details can also be found on my Transport page.

On a more local note, Fred and Mario of Porto Heli WaterSports teamed up last year with Biff and Amy, qualified RYA instructors who also have self-catering appartments for rent, so the beach in front of the AKS Hotel is teaming with water sports activity. To learn more about Biff and Amy or to book your accomodation or sailing and windsurfing lessons, their website is Poseidon-Sports. If you want to contact Fred and Mario, send them an e-mail from here.

Also, Hotel Rozos has now been part of the Best Western group of privately owned hotels worldwide for a while, see their website for more info and online bookings. The old Costa Camping is no longer and there doesn't seem to be another campsite in the area. If anyone has information on campsites a bit further afield, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

Older New Stuff ...

On my previous update, New Stuff was info on rock climbing in this area, the definitive guide written by Jim Titt. Also links to Studios Kalithea and Anastasia Studios if you're looking at places to stay in Porto Heli.

The Chapel of Panagitsa near Maistraki.

The rest of it ...

Always of interest, local weather from the Spetses island weatherstaion (the closest weatherstation to Porto Heli I could find) which is in Greek but is very easy to understand with lots of familiar weather icons.

If you are looking for something in a hurry then use my Sitemap page which lists all the pages in this site with a brief description. Otherwise, browse through at your leisure but don't forget to bookmark www.portoheli.net or add it to your favorites because I am always finding new information and links or getting e-mails requesting new pages or photos so the site is constantly changing. Lastly, I've got a few maps for those of you who'd like to know where Porto Heli is: Map of Argolis, a Local area map and the Village map.
