What and where to buy in Porto Heli ...

Shop 'till you drop ...

Shop Hours - The service providers (banks, post office etc.) are open from about 08.00 to 13.00 daily and closed on weekends. The food shops are usually open from 08.00 to 14.30 and again from 17.30 to 21.00 daily, including Saturdays and on Sunday mornings. Boutiques and so on are open pretty much 24/7, as are some of the Bars/Cafes. Restaurants tend to open about 12.00 and again at 19.00, closing with their last customers although some stay open all day.

Unique gifts can be found in our Antique shops, Boutiques, Jewelry stores & Souvenir shops. We have Ceramic shops (decorative items, flatware and outdoor pieces) and Traditional Greek Craft stores (linen, lace work and handcrafted items).

Everyday items/services include Kiosks & Newsagents, Petrol stations, Chandleries & Hardware stores, Pharmacies, Beauty/Hairdressing salons.

Those of you who are self catering or simply curious will want to use our Bakeries, Butcheries & Fishmongers, Greengrocers, Mini-markets & Supermarkets. Prices don't vary enormously so don't waste your valuable holiday time shopping around and remember that the best Feta Cheese and Olives are kept in barrels in the deli section. There is also an open air market in Ermioni every Thursday with a variety of seasonal produce available.

In my time here the range of shops and the variety of goods available has changed almost beyond recognition and in most cases, if what you want is not available immediately, it can be ordered down from Athens to be collected in a day or two.

Here's one I made earlier ...

An interesting candle holder.

A candle holder made from an old roofing tile in one of the shops in Porto Heli.
