Transport timetables in and around Porto Heli ...

I get around ...

When it comes to transport between Athens and Porto Heli, you have several options. Usually the easiest/fastest route is to go from Athens International Airport / Eleftherios Venizelous Airport to Pireaus Port and from there catch a hydrofoil or ferry to Porto Heli. The drive down is more scenic, especially once you enter Argolis and slightly longer so you can go back up to Athens that way if you like.

Just a few quick links to a Map of Argolis, a Local area map and the Village map.

From Athens to Porto Heli ...

E96(a.k.a. X96 now) bus to Pireaus Port.

The E96/X96 bus leaves from just outside Athens International Airport Arrivals (between exits 4 and 5) every 15/20 minutes between 07.20 & 22.10 or on the hour and half hour between 22.10 & 07.20. The terminal station at Pireaus is at Karaiskaki Square, near Gate E8 and you must walk, with the sea on your right, to Gate E9 for hydrofoil services to Porto Heli. The journey time to Pireaus is about an hour (depending on traffic) and costs a few Euros.

Attiki Metro / ISAP to Piraeus Port.

The new Attiki Metro can take you from the airport to Monastiraki station where you then change lines onto the ISAP Metro which takes you to Piraeus. You arrive outside Gate E8 so need to walk to Gate E9 for hydrofoil services to Porto Heli. The journey time is about an hour and costs about 6 Euros.

EuroSeas EuroFast 1: 210 4132105.

The EuroFast 1 is a high speed catamaran service between Pireaus, Hydra, Spetses and Porto Heli with several daily departures. For bookings or information, see their website, www.euroseas.com. It leaves from Gate E9, the journey time is around 2 1/4 hours and will cost you about 30 Euros.

B.T.W. If you have ages to wait for the hydrofoil, there is a fast food place across the road, opposite Gate E9 which means you can have a snack and sit in the shade whilst you're waiting. There is some sheltered seating near the hydrofoils but not much and I prefer a bit of air-conditioning in the heat of the summer, especially as I'm usually travelling with the kids.

I'm Popeye the sailor man ...

I'm looking for contributions for this section, send me an account and a couple of photos of your sailing trip from wherever to Porto Heli. Loads of people come to Porto Heli by boat and would love to know more about the brilliant bits or places to avoid along the way.

There are two boat yards in Porto Heli, Franks Yacht Station (mostly yachts) and Porto Heli Marine Services (mostly motorboats) who provide craning services, moorings, parking, service, spares and so on.
